Mentorships

Our vision

To assist the next generation in finding more fulfilling careers through broadened exposure, increased opportunities, and one-on-one mentorships.

Increasing Exposure

Students who grow up in rural and at-risk communities have disproportionately less exposure to high-income careers and professional opportunities in general.  This results in a lack of interest in secondary education, lower levels of job satisfaction and increased time required to get into an industry of desire.

"Ms. Cronkhite, 27 years old, had stormed out of Indiana after graduating from high school a year early, searching for horizons wider than a town of 500 residents could offer."

The Wall Street Journal wrote an article highlighting the internal struggle that may be experienced with high-achieving students at rural high schools who feel like they weren’t given all the opportunities required to succeed in the pursuit of their dreams.  The article spotlighted the widening gap of education and economic opportunity between rural and urban areas.

One of the greatest values of mentors is the ability to see ahead what others cannot see and to help them navigate a course to their destination.”
